Buxton Associates - Consulting Structural Engineers

Buxton Associates was established in 1972 by managing director Kenneth Buxton. Our main discipline is consulting structural engineering. We can also advise on infrastructure, including the design of roads and drainage.

All of the directors are Chartered Structural Engineers and are fully active in all aspects of the business.

We are a small, well established practice, with a strong reputation and track record within our sector of the construction industry.

Managing Director.
Ken Buxton attended East South London College and qualified as an engineer in 1969. In 1980 he became a fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers. Prior to setting up the practice in 1972, Ken was employed by Ove Arup and Partners, where he was a project engineer on major development schemes.

Since forming the practice he has developed an expertise which covers the full spectrum of structural engineering in Building Construction.

Director.
Dave Dommett attended Ewell College and qualified as a chartered engineer and 1976, whilst working for John De Bremaeker and Partners. He was involved in the design of a varied range major and medium sized projects. In 1985 he joined Alan Marshall Partnership as senior project engineer. In March 1987 he joined Buxton Associates in a similar position and was made partner in 1990.

Dave specialises in the use of computers for structural design and detailing. Dave is the quality representative under our ISO 9001 accreditation.

Quality Assurance
We operate an ISO 9001: 2000 accredited quality assurance system.

Information Technology
We utilise a comprehensive suite of structural design programmes, which we find cater for most situations that may arise. For drawings we use AutoCAD.

Health & Safety
The company has in place a Health & Safety Policy and all staff are fully aware of the importance of safe working. The directors ensure that work is undertaken in compliance with Health and Safety legislation and also with clients' on site safety arrangements.
