HSBC took out a lease on a ground floor unit and large basement area of a newly redeveloped shell building. The fit-out required the installation of escalators to serve the basement.

The ground floor structure was adapted to allow the installation and support of the top of the escalator whilst the necessary pit was excavated through the basement floor slab, avoiding foundations, etc.
