The iconic shopfront to the Jigsaw store at the end of the Brompton Road was installed in the early 90's. Much loved by the neighbours and the planners it does however take up quite a lot of floor space. We were asked to look at various ways of moving the glazing line whilst keeping the copper feature intact.

The chosen scheme moves the stall riser out towards the pavement and the glass wraps around the copper. We had to undertake extensive forensic work to fully understand what was there before we were satisfied that the new glazing could be supported on 120 year old clinker.

The end result retains the visual qualities of the copper obelisk and allows more flexible use of space within the store.
