A landmark reinforced concrete framed building was adapted to incorporate a new flagship branch of a major High Street bank. Major structural alterations were needed to provide additional links between floors including a glazed lift in the atrium and a new feature staircase.

The lift construction required formation of a pit within the basement sprinkler tank while the staircase involved the removal of a number of major transfer beams. New steelwork framing was generally utilised for the alterations with significant temporary works and jacking required for the controlled removal of areas of the existing structural frame.
