This project takes the typical residential extension to a new level. The existing 19th Century villa being completely stripped of much of its internal load bearing structure and the existing basement dug out and extended across the entire footprint of the house.
The finished product will give large open spaces at ground floor and basement level, a complete re-work of the upstairs bedrooms to provide larger spaces with ensuites as well as an extension to the side and rear, and all whilst keeping the structure hidden from view.
The basement is being constructed using a careful sequence of CFA piling and RC underpinning to ensure the stability of the existing structure, as well as the neighbours houses.
The project features innovative use of the otherwise unused loft void to create bed decks for kids sleepovers.
