The major refurbishment of this 6 storey 1960’s precast concrete clad office building. With three levels of basement, retail banking at ground and first floors and offices above, the building remained occupied throughout the works which required careful phasing by the contractor.

Major structural alterations were made to the rear concrete core, housing four lifts, to accommodate wheelchair access. With the shafts suspended over an existing basement boiler room it was necessary to thread new steel work framing into a tight area to reconfigure the load path at most levels.

Replacement of the air conditioning throughout required new builders work holes through the floors and other works included an external plant platform on the roof, alterations to plant rooms and repairs to the trough floors and exposed aggregate cladding.
